• Copper
  • Copper has been associated with Aphrodite since time out of mind. There are several reasons for this. First is its soft lustrous beauty, like the hair of the goddess. Secondly, ancient mirrors were made from copper. However, most importantly, almost all copper in the ancient world came from the goddess’s sacred island, Cyprus. In fact, our English word “copper” is derived from the island’s name.
• Laser etching
  • Lasers have not been around long enough to have a well-established set of magical correspondences, but when you think about what a laser is, it becomes very clear. The word “laser” is actually an acronym for “Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation”. To oversimplify, lasers are literally light, made so pure and coherent it can cut through solid objects. When understood this way, it is clear that their magic must be just so. They are the blades of light, which, in an older parlance, might be called a flaming sword.
• Aphrodite oil
  • The pentacle is blessed with (and the wrapping cloth retains the scent of) my custom-blended Aphrodite oil, which is primarily rose, sweet orange, rosemary, and frankincense, with hints of dittany of crete, hemp, and thyme, in peach kernel oil.
• Green ribbon
  • The color green is associated with Venus, the great green goddess of fecundity, growing things, and the living sea. However, the ribbon isn’t really blessed at all, you can substitute it for a chain, keyring, or anything else you like.
• Cotton handkerchief
  • The cloth is just there to protect the pentacle, and to absorb the oil during shipping. You can keep it to wrap/store your pentacle, or it can be repurposed for any Aphrodite-related magic, or tucked into your delicates to scent them. Or, you could wash the oil out, and just use it as a rag.

This original-to-me pentacle of Neferiri is based on PGM 1265, which explains that Neferiri (Νεφεριρι) is a secret name of Aphrodite, with which one can cause another to yearn for you. The name is a Greek version of the Egyptian 𓄤𓁹 (Nfr-iri-t), a name for the cow-headed goddess Hathor which means “beautiful eyed one”. The pentacle is built around the 8-pointed star of Ishtar.

These pentacles received their final consecration on Friday, November 19th, 2021 just as the full moon emerged from her eclipse in Taurus into Gemini, which makes this pentacle great for charming first impressions. At that time, Venus was in Capricorn, trine Uranus, well aspected for romance and passion.

Each pentacle has been awakened, and given a unique name.

When you are ready to activate your pentacle, unwrap her, and wipe off any excess oil. Greet her by name, and introduce yourself. Whisper to her sweet endearments, while you pour your energy into her. Rub and breathe on her until she is warm to the touch. Once she’s warmed up, explain how much you have looked forward to meeting her, and ask for her help with attraction, romance, and glamour. Speak directly from your heart, in your own words, being specific about what you’d like help with. Kiss her to seal the connection, and wear her, or put her by your bed, on an altar, or in another special location.
