Hekataia (singular = hekataion) are a kind of doorway shrine for Hekate. They were VERY common in the ancient world, both at the doors of private homes and at city/temple gates.
This lesson comes with a printable template for construction of your own Hekataion. It's best to print it on heavy cardstock. You will also need paints or colored pencils, a black ink pen, and scissors.
This lesson includes about an hour of historical / cultural context about Hekataia, and then a deep-dive into the specific Hekataia I will instruct you in making, including a detailed analysis of several of Hekate's epithets, the ikon of Hekate from Orphic Hymns Grimoire, and the PGM phylactery I have combined with it.
Also included is about an hour long guided ritual to guide you through making the Hekataion.
The background lesson will be live on Sunday November the 19th.
The guided ritual will not be presented live, as it is best timed based on your own sleep schedule.
This lesson is appropriate for witches at all ability/experience levels, from beginner to advanced.
